Selected works of Santiago de Murcia, lead-figure of Guitar music in the eighteen Century at the Spanish court. Many of Murcia’s works have been rediscovered in South America and can now be found in Chilean and Mexican libraries. Chilean-born baroque guitarist Cristian Gutiérrez, currently living in the Hague/NL, is a musician with an impressive résumé. Being in his early 30s, he has already recorded over fifteen albums and he performs regularly with famous Early Music ensembles all over the world. Gutiérrez’ interpretation puts a distinctive, energetic and luminous mark to Murcia’s works which are brought to life in this recording.
