格伦·古尔德,1932年9月25日出生于加拿大安大略省多伦多市, 加拿大钢琴演奏家。他以演奏约翰·塞巴斯蒂安·巴赫乐曲闻名于世。1964年以后停止公开演奏,转向录音。自幼随母亲学琴,后入多伦多皇家音乐学院学习。十二岁毕业,成为该校历史上最年轻的毕业生。十五岁时,与多伦多交响乐团合作首次公演。1955年到美国公演,弹奏巴赫的作品《哥德堡变奏曲》,一举成名。他还从事作曲,并在多伦多大学任教。在现代钢琴家中,象他那样以巴赫作品作为整个音乐会曲目是绝无仅有的。其演奏以严谨的结构、丰富多彩的变化、生动传神的处理,令人叹为观止。他演奏的曲目相当广泛,但以演奏巴赫作品获最高评价。* ~& E' x% ]8 m4 T9 u6 O
