Pepper ”重现；Brett 宣称“The Wild Ones”是他们到目前为止最棒的歌曲，把The Smiths的“There Is A Light...”都给比了下去。“The Power”这首歌拥有所有成功单曲所具备的因素，和 Eagles的作品风格很类似，迷幻得让人销魂，整首歌最后以la la la 声渐行渐远的方式结束。 “Daddy‘s Speeding”则是另一首萦绕着“Sgt. Pepper”味道的歌曲；“New Generation”最傲人的则是与众不同的二部和声，以较低沉微弱的声音紧接着主声部分的重迭唱法，而歌曲最后，则以彷若***后迷幻不已的嗓音重覆唱着We Take The *** To Find Each Other(我们只能藉着*** 认识彼此)。“The Asphalt World”是首全长十分钟的曲子，确实好得不同凡响。这张专辑的最后一首歌曲“Still Life”，邀来四十人的弦乐团为其伴奏，完美的程度如史诗般令人咏叹，相信后起的团体，很难超越其成就（这不尽是赞美，还带有警告的成分）。 《Dog Man Star》这张旷世钜作，不仅完全打破既有的创作模式，它也持续地感动了众人的心灵。在这张专辑完成的同时，Suede正式和吉他手 Butler分道扬镳，他们吸收了另一位年仅17岁的吉他手 Richard Oakes-来自英格兰南方“多塞特郡”(Dreset)的 Poole地区。和报导 Butler的离团一样，音乐杂志也纷纷告知 Suede有新人加入的消息。之后 Suede在欧洲、美国、日本展开了一连串的演唱会，和新任吉他手 Richard 的配合默契十分良好
